Crystal Light sought to promote its product as a favorable alternative to soda that is both healthy and delicious. Specifically, they planned to use social media in a new way to create brand awareness during the active summer months.


Crystal Light created the “Stand Up for a Soda-Free Summer” campaign that encouraged consumers to join the flavor challenge with a simple scan. Print promotions featured ScanLife’s QR Codes that instantly connected users to the Crystal Light Facebook page where they could sign up for the challenge and learn more about product benefits. Also included was a scanable coupon that offered in-store savings on the Crystal Light drink mix. In addition, Crystal Light made it especially easy for new users by including instructions for downloading a free barcode reader as part of the ad.
