Topps wanted to find an innovative way to enhance the collector’s experience by giving them the chance to win great prizes at the 2013 MLB All-Star FanFest in New York.


ScanLife provided Topps with the mobile engagement platform to power NFC and QR Code technology. Topps placed QR Codes and NFC chips on giant, designated baseball cards around the FanFest center. Attendees then used their NFC-enabled or QR barcode scanner, like the ScanLife mobile app, to touch or scan any of the cards for a chance to win exclusive Topps prizes. In addition, ScanLife provided Topps a variety of consumer insights with each scan or interaction, delivering valuable business intelligence—all from a single platform.
